Why don’t they lay off me.?
Give me a break,
I inked my pain on paper.
I can feel my pulse racing,
My stress levels are sky-high,
My journey has been traumatic,
I’m a magnet to depraved men,
Even, at five years old I knew blood couldn’t be trusted,
I’ve struggled all my life,
I’m a warrior and a fighter.
A self-taught exhausted writer,
I will face you and embrace you,
Self-love pride and respect are vital
I’ll make you feel at home,
Keep you safe from harm,
In this upheaval world of jargon and no action,
I’ll take my inner child to safety.
Free you from abuse and cruelty,
Take my hand and let me guide you,
I’ll forever protect my inner child. by Dorothy Maude.
