Wondering if I will ever,
Get my life together,
I am 63 years old,
But in their world,
I am still a girl,
They talk down to me, they lie about me,
They criticize me, patronize me, demoralize me,
Now they are trying to criminalize me,
They say I don’t have any capability,
They label me, I am left to wallow in misery,
I feel worthless, even useless,
I would love to be valued,
I hate being ridiculed,
In the past, they called me half cast,
Now they say I’m mixed heritage,
Whatever that means,
Peel back the layers,
we are all human beings by Dorothy Maude.
