I have always wanted to be good at whatever I did, I like to impress people I so love praise and attention. I didn’t have a lot going for me and not having parents made life very difficult to say the least. Of course I had dreams and ambitions but they were as black as the volcanic rock that I stood on. I remembered the day I walked out of Harford school. I didn’t have any qualifications at all , but I did have callous covering both my hands from being constantly caned for petty misdemeanours, I had bad memories too. I went to a party and I reconized one of my teachers from Long wood junior school. I heard her ask someone who I was, she turned bright red because just like me she remembered beating me up in the school play ground. I saw my head teacher walking towards me, as soon as she saw me she crossed over the other side, she also remembered her cruelty to me. At a reunion a teacher looked very embarrassed when she relized who I was, she didn’t ever hit me, but she always said the most spiteful things to me, I have learnt that mental abuse is just as bad as a beating. She would say to a girl who I totally adored not to play with me because I was bad. I found her comments so hurtful. They say what happens in the classroom stays with a child forever, how true.
