Jan 23
Walking up the high street,
Window shopping,
Outside looking in,
Saw a man with a grin,
I smiled at him,
He smiled back,
gratification, and appreciation,
And self-respect,
Means a lot to me,
Self-love too,
Deep inside my soul,
Where I can become whole,
I walked past a save the children’s shop,
No one saved me when I was a child,
I thought God had forgotten me,
Encircled by misery,
But God saved me,
And set me free,
Because I stood tall,
And came through it all,
Because I am a child of God.
