The bitterness of tears isĀ past,
Their tincture burns no more,
It is as if a rainbow spanned
The clouds so dark of yore.
‘Tis not that tears no longer fall,
Swifty they fall to-day!
But there are thoughts,
Like hands unseen,
Which wipe the tears away.
