I am not less of a human,
Because I’m a woman,
Maybe I’ve been cursed,
By all means,I’m a woman first.
I have a womb, breast and bleed every month,
My heart bleeds too,
We carry our babies for nine months,
We let them suckle milk from our breasts.
We raise our children, sometimes on our own,
While men walk away and leave us alone ,
Yet men refer to us as the weaker sex,
With crul hands squeezing our necks,
They murder us and call it rough sex.
We gave birth to every man on earth,
We nurtue and protect them,
We rarely neglect them,
We grow old and sometimes get told,
We are too fat,
They trade us in for a younger model,
Being dumped isn’t a doddle,
.
We raise great leaders,
Encouraging them to embrace our nation,
Proud of their dedication,
Joining in their celebration.
I am to empower, to aspire, to inspire,
All my hopes and dreams,
To propel love and kindness,
To my children and grandchildren,
Because I’m their leader,
And above all I’m a woman, By Dorothy Maude.
